
This hygiene course is ideal for people working, or intending to work, in food preparation in the hospitality, community food service or health streams and require occupational hygiene training. Enrol in this basic hygiene course and learn how to apply and maintain food hygiene practices. Students will become familiar with government acts and regulations relevant to food safety and personal hygiene. Study units will also cover ways to minimise food spoilage and food poisoning, how to apply sound food hygiene and food safety practices and how to use correct clearing, sanitising, filter, and pest control and garbage disposal procedures. Graduates will be accredited to implement a food safety program based on HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles. Once you've gained this qualification, you may apply for advanced standing in a range of hospitality qualifications. This qualification can lead graduates to working in the catering industry as a food handler.
