Electronics and Communications Certificate III

electronics equipment This electronics and communications course is designed for people wanting to work as an electronics tradesperson, including those undertaking an apprenticeship. The electronic communication course provides national competencies to enable you to select, install, set up, test, fault-find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment and devices at component/sub-assembly level, with options in communications, audio, video and TV technology, personal computer and networks, security and custom installations. This qualification does not permit the holder to work unsupervised on low voltage fixed wiring and equipment or to directly supervise others in this technical work.

Completion of this course will allow for employment as an electronics tradesperson or in a related electronics engineering field.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal educational requirements for entry to this course. However, the Electrotechnology Training Package recommends typical language, literacy and numeracy skill levels needed to successfully complete each Competency Standard Unit undertaken. Learners should either be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments to achieve the completion requirements of this course.
