computer systems equipment Hunter TAFE's computer technician courses are for people interested in working in roles such as a computer repair technician or service technician. This computer technician training course provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault, find, repair and maintain computer equipment for data storage systems, personal computers and computer network systems, measurement/analysis and control. This qualification does not permit the holder to work unsupervised on low voltage fixed wiring and equipment or to directly supervise others in this work. Successful completion of this course offers career and business opportunities as a computer hardware technician. You may choose to further your technology qualifications with training programs in computer science, electronics and communications, or video and audio systems engineering.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal educational requirements for entry to this course. However, the Electrotechnology Training Package recommends typical language, literacy and numeracy skill levels needed to successfully complete each Competency Standard Unit undertaken. Learners should either be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments to achieve the completion requirements of this course.
