
This course provides training for achievement of the units of competency
HLTFA403A Manage first aid in the workplace, and the prerequisite units HLTFA301B Apply first aid and HLTFA402B Apply advanced first aid. This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to manage first aid in the workplace. You will learn how to establish and manage workplace first aid facilities, including management of first aid records and evaluation of first aid provision.
The course will allow persons to qualify as trained "occupational first aid" personnel, and recognised as such by WorkCover NSW, in terms of the requirements of Chapter 2, clause 20 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001.

People seeking to enrol in the unit of competency HLTFA301B, Apply first aid are advised that to successfully complete the unit they must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and
perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
People who have a disability that would prevent them from performing required basic life support skills are advised that they will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
