This marine engineering training course focuses on developing the practical skills and knowledge required to perform the various specialised tasks required of Marine Engineers Class 1 on vessels of unlimited propulsion power. Your course of study will teach you to plan and schedule operations and organise safe maintenance and repair procedures. You will develop skills necessary to operate and maintain electrical machinery and electronic control and engine equipment. Maintenance would include testing and detecting faults and repairing them. You will also learn to manage administration of a boat or ship, including its business, legal and personnel aspects. Other outcomes of the course would include mastering the technology required to perform routine tasks on board a vessel whilst ensuring safe work practices.
