
Hunter TAFE's marine engineer courses are for people wanting to work as marine engineers or in related maritime pursuits including operator, officer, technician or assistant worker roles. This marine engineer training course focuses on developing the practical skills and knowledge required to work as a Marine Engineer Class 3. You will learn to work as chief engineer of vessels with propulsion machinery of maximum continuous power less than 1500kW up to 600 nautical miles from the coast. Evidence of sea time/service on board a suitable boat will be required to obtain a Certificate of Competency from the NSW Maritime Authority.
