This welding class is suitable for people requiring the knowledge and skills to work or seek employment as a Gas Tungsten Arc Welder (GTAW) in a metal fabrication or allied engineering industry. The welding training you will receive will help you to acquire the practical skills and techniques associated with the GTAW process to join ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous material in all weld positions, heat, cut and gouge materials, interpret engineering drawings and use a variety of hand and power tools/equipment to fabricate metal components. Hunter TAFE welding classes will help you learn to weld and are designed to accommodate both off-the-job training and on-the-job training and experiences. Completion of welding courses will leave you eligible to enrol in other courses in the Metal and Engineering Training Package MEM05, including MIG welding.
