Hunter TAFE offers a number of arc welding courses for people requiring the knowledge and skills to work or seek employment as a Gas Metal Arc Welder (GMAW) in a metal fabrication or allied engineering industry. This TAFE welding course offers training in the practical skills and techniques associated with the GMAW process to join materials in all weld positions, heat, cut and gouge materials to size and shape, interpret engineering drawings and use a variety of hand and power tools/equipment to repair and fabricate metal components - all with a focus on safety. This course is designed to accommodate both off-the-job training and on-the-job training and experiences. Completion of this course will leave you eligible to enrol in other courses in the Metal and Engineering Training Package MEM05, including those focusing on TIG and MIG welding.
