Hunter TAFE's welding training is aimed at experienced welders who work, or are seeking work, in boiler manufacturing or repair. Enrol in this course and you will learn practical skills with welding equipment and high-quality welding of pressure vessel or piping, as well as MIG and arc welding, to meet assessment requirements in Australian Standard 1796-2001. This welding course certifies graduates (depending upon the 1-9 welding certificate students undertake) to weld high-quality design on plain carbon and/or low alloy-steel plate and pipe sections. Hunter TAFE can offer assessments at a workplace or off-site or a combination of both to suit your needs. Successful completion of this welding course will grant students competence and a welding certificate 1-9 as defined in the Australian Standard 1796-2001. Graduates can further their career by enrolling in advanced welding courses, such as Metal and Engineering Training Package MEM05.
