This Hunter TAFE chainsaw training course is for people aiming to work in the forestry sector. Enrol in this Chainsaw Operations Level 1 course to learn basic chainsaw operation skills. Given the extremely dangerous nature of chainsaw operations, a first aid certificate that complies with Forests NSW WorkCover requirements is highly recommended before enrolling. It's also advisable that students have a high level of fitness and manual dexterity.
The skills you will acquire in this chainsaw course can be used in a range of industries, not just forestry, where chainsaws are used such as conservation and land management, rural production, horticulture, and public services and utilities.
Students will learn occupational health and safety procedures when using chainsaws, felling a tree, cutting materials with a hand-held saw; trimming and cutting felled trees, as well as maintenance of chain saw equipment. Graduates of our chainsaw training courses can look for work as forestry chainsaw operators.
