The Muswellbrook Mining Skills Centre is a purpose built facility at Hunter TAFE’s Muswellbrook Campus. The Centre, officially opened in December last year, is a Commonwealth and State Government joint initiative that provides integrated training across a range of disciplines transforming the way that mining skills are delivered at TAFE.
The Mining Skills Centre was established in partnership with local industry, to provide local mining apprentices with high quality training and skills to ensure they are job-ready. The Centre addresses the long term needs of training for the black coal mining industry, through an integrated suite of training in electrical skills, metals engineering and automotive. The Mining Skills Centre provides training for new apprentices in basic engineering, safety and lifestyle skills with other customised training also available. This facility further enhances the delivery of vital skills and provides students with the best possible vocational education and training.
