What does the Hunter TAFE Foundation do?The Hunter TAFE Foundation is a joint partnership between Hunter business, education and community leaders committed to supporting education and training at Hunter TAFE by helping students achieve their goals.
The Hunter TAFE Foundation supports many worthwhile activities which aid students progress. Some examples include:
- Reg Russom Memorial Drawing Prize - one of Australia's longest established art prizes, open to all Lower Hunter students aged 25 and under.
- Newcastle Lord Mayor Arts Scholarship and Encouragement Awards - first awarded in 2004 to nurture young talent in all spheres of the arts, including painting and drawing, music, drama, dance and writing.
- Youth Encouragement Awards - for an outstanding student who has overcome difficulties to succeed in a TAFE course.
- Production of Faculty Medals for major Hunter TAFE awards.
- Indigenous Encouragement awards.
Grants are also available for students needing support for worthwhile activities which benefit themselves, Hunter TAFE and the community.
